A Waiting Wave by Kulpreet Yadav

Title : A Waiting Wave

Author : Kuldeep Yadav

Publisher : Cedar Book

A waiting wave is a story about the journey of love. The protagonist Harry falls in love with his colleague from office Kareena and they get married but soon differences surface in their marriage. He moves away to the Andaman Islands to give himself some time to think things over. The story unfolds itself in his reminiscences and the soul searching. The back drop of the tsunami matches the mood of the protagonist. Kareena, left alone, goes through her own journey of self discovery.

Will Harry survive the tsunami? Will the tsunami bring the estranged couple together or separate them forever?

It is a regular love story along with a villain vying for the heroine's attention. The hero bashes the villain and the two rediscover their lost love when reality sets in. A working woman's angst is brought out in small incidents throughout the narrative. The story is well narrated and the description of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and its history and culture is fascinating. I feel, all the 'masala' is there but the story just doesn't touch the heart and the characters don't stay with you after you put the book down.
